When a patient fails to show up for a scheduled appointment, or arrives very late, this disrupts the scheduling for us and for our other patients. An appointment blocks off a certain segment of time that then becomes unavailable for other patients, so a no show means that time is wasted. If we then try to squeeze the no show patient in later when they finally do show up, that can mean that other patients have to wait longer and have their own appointments delayed.
To help avoid missed appointments, we do our best to remind you via phone calls, texts and emails. Let us know what works best for you and we will do our best to make sure you have your calendar updated and do not miss your appointment
Unfortunately we have seen such no shows increase in recent years. Not just people who arrive a few minutes after their appointment is scheduled to start, but an hour or more later, or not at all.
