Referrals to Medical &
Mental Health Providers

As a family medical practice, the Be Well Medical Center will handle the majority of your medical issues, from colds and the flu, to cuts and scrapes, to chronic conditions such as diabetes, to most of the needs of our HIV patients. However, there are times that a patient can more appropriately be treated by a specialist, such as a rheumatologist, cardiologist, oncologist, psychiatrist, etc.

When these situations arise, we will recommend such a specialist to you. Our practice has been in operation since 1980, and Dr. Benson throughout that time has gained extensive knowledge of the local health care scene. He is familiar with the work of physicians from all the major area hospitals, including William Beaumont in Royal Oak and St. John Oakland in Madison Heights (in fact he has served as President of the St. John Oakland Physicians Organization). He has referred patients to countless specialists and knows the quality of care those patients then received. Furthermore, Be Well is a member practice of Michigan Healthcare Professionals, a group that include several hundred of the most highly regarded specialists in the area. All this experience means that when you need to see a specialist, we are in a position to help you ascertain who best fits your medical needs.

Understand also that you will never be abandoned. Being referred to a specialist doesn’t mean that you cease to be a Be Well patient and become a patient of another physician instead. Dr. Benson and the Be Well team remain the supervisors of your health care if you are referred to a specialist or hospitalized. We remain in close communication with you and with those who are providing your specialized care.

We Would Love to Have You Visit Soon!
